On April 20, Angélica Vale and husband Otto Padrón celebrated one of the happiest events in their lives: the baptism of their first daughter Angélica Masiel, who was born on June 6th 2012 in Los Angeles, in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. Little Angélica Masiel wore a traditional white dress, while her mom chose a lovely cream-pink dress by Mexican designer David Salomón.

It was reported that Vale decided to do a strict diet in order to lose weight for her daughter’s baptism and also for her participation in the show 'Parodiando', a talent show for aspiring comedians. She joked that she was on the SO diet: “This diet consists of stopping overeating, because there’s no other way, just exercising, we all know what makes us fat and what doesn’t. I wanted to be in shape for my return to the television, and I also want to be healthy because of my daughter, in order to be with her for many years to come, to see her grow up and happy. My priorities have changed.”

The godparents of Angeliquita are actor Jaime Camil, a longtime friend of Vale, and who also was her leading man in ‘La fea más bella’, and one of Otto’s sisters. Other starts who attended this special event were Alan Tacher, Ernesto Laguardia, Cristian Castro, Pedro Fernández and Aracely Arámbula. Jaime Camil came accompanied by wife Heidi Balvanera and daughter Elena.

After the religious ceremony was finished, the party continued in Hacienda de los Morales in Mexico City, where the guests could enjoy some delicious Mexican dishes that were prepared especially for the event. A special cake with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was prepared for little Angélica by her mom and grandmother.

  1. Lovely baptism, cake, and people sure made a great party! However, the writer of this article sure needs to improve his/her writing. I had a difficult time understanding whether if Angelica Vale's daughter was born in "Los Angeles, in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City." The writer of the article needs a brush up course in writing.
