"Graduados" becomes the big winner of the 2013 Martín Fierro awards

Last year’s smash hit comedy “Graduados” became the grand
winner of the 43d edition of the Martín Fierro awards, the most important award
ceremony for achievement in television and radio in Argentina. During the glamorous
ceremony, which was realized for the first time in the Colón Theater, Telefé’s "Graduados"
snagged six awards after being nominated in 17 categories, including best
author, best supporting actress and best leading actress. The ceremony was
aired on Telefé and was hosted by popular host Marley, who was accompanied by
the Argentine diva Susana Giménez during the first part of the show.

Altair Jarabo celebrates her birthday and launches a career as a businesswoman

Altair Jarabo recently celebrated her 27th birthday while
filming for the telenovela ‘Mentir Para Vivir’, where she portrays Raquel. The production
team organized a surprise party for the Mexican actress, who said: “I
celebrated my birthday while working, and I always thought it is a good sign to
be working during all my birthdays.”
When asked about her current telenovela, she expressed how thankful
she is towards the production team of ‘Mentir Para Vivir’ and producer Rosy
Ocampo. Although she had to work during her birthday, she revealed that she
will hold her birthday party during the weekend.
Besides her acting career, Jarabo is also preparing her
debut as a businesswoman and planning to launch an accessories line and a new
fragrance, among other projects. She revealed that investing in this project
was an exciting experience for her: “The accessories line opened a new field
for me, as a businesswoman. I’ve taken many important decisions, including
decisions about prices, materials, targets, strategies. Obviously, I was
advised by people from the brand that have the experience, but who gave me the
opportunity to make big decisions, and I liked it.”
She also spoke about her upcoming fragrance and revealed
that all decisions regarding her perfume were decided by her: “I specified
which aromas I wanted, fresh or floral… in the end, a floral-fruity aroma,
which is a bit fresh, was chosen. It will be named Altair.”
Mexican actress Sherlyn, who currently is the guest host of
the program 'Despierta América', recently confessed that she and fiancée Gerardo
Islas held a Balinese wedding ceremony during their vacation in there. The ceremony
took place shortly before Islas gave Sherlyn a gorgeous engagement ring, and
both wore traditional Balinese costumes.
The thrilled bride recalled: “When we went to Bali I told
Gerardo I wanted a ceremony, a Balinese blessing. We had luck and met the king
of Kerambitam, called Bapak Oka. He organized our wedding, you can’t imagine
what a ceremony it was! Then he gave me the ring. It was during the ceremony,
and he told me: ‘You are the woman of my life, I want you to marry me.’”
Sherlyn also spoke about the couple’s plans for the
traditional civil and religious wedding ceremonies. While the civil wedding
take place in September in Cancun, the religious one will be during April of 2014
in Puebla.

Finale of telemundo media’s “el señor de los cielos” averages over 3.6 million viewers

On the heels of delivering its best weekly performance to
date, Telemundo Media’s original production “El Señor de los Cielos” (The Lord
of the Skies, M-F 10pm ET) came to an end delivering its highest-rated telecast
and the second highest-rated finale in the network’s history, regardless of
time period, averaging 3,627,000 total viewers and 2,324,000 adults 18-49,
according to Nielsen. In its final
episode, the popular novela ranked as the #1 program in its time period among
Spanish-language networks, out delivering Univision among adults 18-49 by 60%
and among total viewers by 16%.
A co-production between Telemundo Studios and Caracol TV
featuring novela stars Rafael Amaya, Ximena Herrera, Fernanda Castillo and
Gabriel Porras, "El Señor de los Cielos” full run averaged 2.3 million
total viewers and nearly 1.5 million adults 18-49, ranking as the second
highest-rated novela in the network’s history.
At 10pm, the hit series ranked #1 with adults 18-34, regardless of
language, a quarter of the time since its premiere. The series beat at least
one of the English-language networks among adults 18-34 nearly every night and
76% of the time among adults 18-49. Additionally, the series outperformed
Univision to rank #1 with adults 18-34 among Spanish-language broadcasters
almost half of the nights since its premiere.
Locally, the finale was the #1 program regardless of
language in its time period among key demos (adults 18-49 & 18-34) in Los
Angeles, Miami, Houston, Dallas and Phoenix.
It also out-delivered ABC’s “Bachelorette” finale (8-10p ET) among
adults 18-49 in Chicago.
Additionally, the finale broke records online and on mobile
during the full run of the show attracting over 700,000 users and generating
over 10 million page views. On mobile,
it attracted over half a million unique users and generated over 12 million
page views. It was the #1 streamed
novela online and on mobile for 2013.
“El Señor de los Cielos," Telemundo's most ambitious
production to date, tells the story of Aurelio Casillas (Rafael Amaya), one of
the most prominent Mexican drug lords from the 1990's, whose ambition was to
become one of the richest and most powerful men in Mexico. From the moment his
photo was published, his face became his biggest stumbling block. The
authorities, as well as his enemies, began to pursue him and he opted for
high-risk plastic surgery to conceal his identity.
