Telemundo’s electrifying live broadcast of the third annual
“Premios Tu Mundo” (Your World Awards) from the American Airlines Arena in
Miami, Florida, celebrated fans’ vote for favorite actors, singers and TV
moments through a selection process that combined the power of television, web,
mobile and social media platforms. Music
and Television stars attended the much anticipated event hosted by Gaby Espino
and Aaron Diaz, which featured thrilling performances and appearances by
renowned artists, including Juanes, Lucero, Gerardo Ortiz and David Bisbal
among others. Top honors went to lead
actors Rafael Amaya and Gaby Espino who received Favorite Lead Actor
awards. On the music side, the Ortiz
brothers walked out with an award each, with Gerardo Ortiz taking Favorite
Norteño Artist and Kevin Ortiz taking Favorite Banda; while Favorite Pop Artist
went to Enrique Iglesias, who also won Party-Starting Song for his summer hit
“Bailando.” “Santa Diabla” was awarded
Novela of the Year and Best Bad Luck Moment, among other acting nods. Fans all over the world voted from 26

The evening started with a bang on the blue carpet as
Joseguillermo Cortines and the band Bachaco, the winner of Telemundo’s
“Buscando Mi Ritmo,” performed their original song “Tu” to the delight of the
crowd. Premios Tu Mundo opened with a
high energy performance by Yandel featuring his brother General Gadiel and
Farruko with DJ Ravi Drums interpreting the hit song “Plakito.” Colombian superstar Juanes, performed his
chart topping song “Una Flor;” Los Tucanes de Tijuana debuted “Señora de
Acero,” theme song of the upcoming Telemundo novela "Señora Acero;” and
iconic rock band La Ley reunited on the stage to sing their new song “Sin Ti,”
and their super hit “Duelo.” The evening
also featured a powerful performance by merengue royalty Olga Tañon and Elvis Crespo
united on stage. The show closed with
Alexis & Fido singing their popular hit song “Rompe la Cintura.” Lucero, Natalia Jimenez, Gerardo Ortiz, Davis
Bisbal and Gabriel Coronel also lit up the stage with memorable performances.
Telemundo continued to forge its reputation for innovative,
cutting edge initiatives which enhanced the social media experience of the
show. Telemundo brought in key
influencers from major social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram, YouTube and others, to create customized content throughout the
show. Other social media promotional
features included the Vine Cam which delivered a 360-degree first-look of the
star arrivals on the blue carpet; a “Digital Backstage Lounge,” featuring
interactive social media stations to provide extended behind-the-scenes content
from the rehearsals and main show; and Twitter Mirrors, positioned in the
backstage and press room areas, giving the talent the opportunity to interact
and provide a “behind-the-scenes” perspective.
In a first-ever initiative, tweets by both fans and talent were featured
live on-air via remote control. In
addition, Telemundo launched its first Twitter Amplify campaign reaching U.S.
Hispanic social fans through highly targeted branded content. Capping off the night was the “Favorito De La
Noche” Award, which was awarded to the celebrity who received the most tweets
in support from the viewers.
Telemundo announced the much anticipated list of finalists
for the third annual Premios Tu Mundo (Your World Awards). During the last four
weeks, fans all over the world have placed their votes to select four finalists
per category from the pool of nominees, and on Thursday, August 21, at 8PM/7c
fans will have the opportunity to honor their favorite actors, singers and TV moments,
as the winners of Premios Tu Mundo are revealed during the live broadcast from
the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Hosted by Gaby Espino and Aaron
Diaz, the star-studded awards show, will also include exciting performances by
Juanes, Alexis & Fido, Yandel, El General Gadiel, Olga Tañon, Elvis Crespo,

Telemundo’s live broadcast of the second annual
“Premios Tu Mundo” (Your World Awards) from the American Airlines Arena in

sports. The star-studded event, hosted by telenovela stars Gaby Espino
and Aaron Diaz, featured high energy performances and appearances by prominent
artists. Top honors went to the novela La Patrona, which was awarded
Novela of the Year, Favorite Protagonist – Female: Aracely Arámbula, Best
Villain – Female: Christian Bach, Best Supporting Actor: Gonzalo García
Vivanco, The Perfect Couple: Aracely Arámbula and Jorge Luis Pila, Legendary
Actress: Christian Bach and Best Bad Luck Moment. Through fan voting and
a selection process that combined the power of television, web, mobile and
social media platforms, Telemundo viewers made their choice and selected the
winners from 20 competing categories.
Premios Tu Mundo winners also included “El Rostro de la Venganza” with two awards; while “Pasión Prohibida” and “El Señor de los Cielos” were honored with one award each. Winners in music categories included: “Dámaso” by Gerardo Ortiz for The Party Starting Song; “Incondicional” by Prince Royce won Most Popular Song of the Year, and “Invencible” by Alerta Zero received the mun2 presents Best Music Video. In film, Michelle Rodríguez received the Fandango Cine’s Latino Performance of the Year award. Best Athlete of the Year went to Leo Messi, and the I’m Sexy and I Know It award went to Gaby Espino. TV personalities that were honored included Maria Celeste Arraras for Best Social Fan Club and Ana Maria Polo’s “Caso Cerrado” with Best Reality Moment.
During the ceremony, special awards were also presented to actress, producer and activist Eva Longoria, music mogul Daddy Yankee, renowned actor Rafael Amaya, and Gaby Espino. The “ALMA de Tu Mundo” (ALMA “Soul” of Your World) award, presented jointly by Telemundo and the National Council of la Raza, honors artists who use their fame and talent to help the neediest in society, and create awareness of various philanthropic causes. In recognition of her work to help ensure a better future for Hispanic families through civic engagement, voting, education and entrepreneurship, the first ever “ALMA de Tu Mundo” award was presented to actress Eva Longoria. The “Poder Musical” (Musical Powerhouse) award, reserved only for artists who with courage, talent and innovative power revolutionize the world of music, was conferred to Daddy Yankee. For his memorable role in “El Señor de los Cielos”, the celebrated production that broke barriers and ratings records in Spanish language television, leading actor Rafael Amaya is the recipient of the “El Mero Mero” (Top Notch) award; while actress Gaby Espino was honored with the “Favorito de la Noche” (Favorite of the Night) award, based on real-time tweets by followers of @PremiosTuMundo.

Telemundo announced that telenovela stars Gaby Espino
and Aaron Diaz will host the 2013 edition of “Premios Tu Mundo” (Your World
Awards), the three-hour star-studded awards show to be broadcast live on
Thursday, August 15 at 8pm/7c from the American Airlines Arena in Miami,
Florida. The special also will feature “La Alfombra de Premios Tu Mundo,” the
anticipated arrivals pre-show hosted by Alessandra Villegas, co-host of
Telemundo’s “Un Nuevo Dia,” Jorge Bernal co-host of Telemundo’s “La Voz Kids,”
and popular mun2 talent Guad Vanegas. Fans can also follow the excitement via

Gaby Espino is undoubtedly one of the most recognized
telenovela stars around the world. After successfully hosting Telemundo’s
reality show "Yo Me Llamo," the striking actress returns to the
screen in Telemundo’s original production "Santa Diabla.” Born in
Venezuela, Gaby has starred in outstanding original productions, including
"Más Sabe el Diablo,” "Sin Vergüenza,” "Ojo por Ojo" and
many more. She was also co-host in 2012 of the first edition of “Premios Tu
Mundo” on Telemundo. Gaby has graced the cover of many international magazines
and has been included various times in the "50 Most Beautiful" list
by People en Español magazine.
Renowned Mexican actor Aarón Díaz joined Telemundo this
year, becoming an exclusive talent at the network after starring in numerous
internationally successful telenovelas and participating in the ABC TV series
"Pan Am.” "Santa Diabla" marks his first starring role in
Telemundo, acting alongside stars Gaby Espino, Ximena Duque and Carlos Ponce. A
native of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Aaron jumped to stardom in 2002 with the
popular series "Clase 406" that broke records by broadcasting
uninterruptedly for a year and seven months. Since then, he has participated in
numerous worldwide hit productions like "Teresa", “Barrera de Amor
"and "Lola Erase una Vez.”
