SYNOPSIS
The life of Gabriela Suarez, the only woman in the San Pedro del Oro mine, takes a turn after she falls for Alejandro Beltrán, the eldest son of Antonia Guerra, the most powerful and feared woman of the town. The love that blossoms between them is tormented by ambition.
Little by little, “Tigre”, Gabriela’s father, has been mining gold and hiding it in a cave. But
when the rumor of his find reaches Antonia Guerra’s greedy ears, it will cost him his life. Even though Antonia’s men torture him, they cannot get a word out of him as to where he has hidden the treasure. But before his death, he does tell his daughter about it, although for now, she does not believe him.
This gold marks the beginning of Gabriela Suarez’ downfall. Gabriela is unjustly locked in a mental asylum where she is tortured and humiliated. Once she manages to escape, she is presumed dead. Years later she returns, transformed into Verónica Dantés, “The Boss”, who arrives determined to carry out her revenge against those who destroyed her life.
Fernando —the son of Antonia Guerra, the most powerful and feared woman in town— is the younger brother of Alejandro Beltran, the man who will win the young miner’s heart. An unquenchable love will emerge between them; a love marked by tragedy, which Gabriela will pay for with blood. But everything will change when Gabriela Suarez crosses his path. While both are trapped in the mine and run the risk of losing their lives, an inevitable attraction arises. Love, that many-splendored and uncertain thing, will come into play.
However, that love will clash with the plans of Irene Montemar, who in complicity with Antonia, will do everything possible to steal Alejandro’s heart.
