Will ‘Avenida Brasil’ premiere on TV Azteca instead of ‘Las Bravo’?
3:38 PMUnknown
Although filming for the upcoming TV Azteca production ‘Las
Bravo’ will continue as planned, it was recently informed that the company is
planning to make some significant schedule changes which will affect the
novelas that are planned to be aired on the network.
Due to such changes, ‘Las Bravo’ will supposedly not
premiere as planned and will be replaced by the extremely successful Brazilian novela
‘Avenida Brasil’. Although ‘Las Bravo’, starring Edith González and Mauricio
Islas, will still be filmed as planned, it is still unknown when it will
actually premiere.
‘Avenida Brasil’ will probably air in the 9:30pm timeslot,
dubbed in Spanish. This revenge-focused novela became the most successful and
most exported Brazilian novela of all times.
Only one of the TV Azteca produced novelas has already
granted its timeslot, and it’s ‘Por siempre tuya… Acapulco’, starring Melissa
Barrera and Daniel Elbittar. It has already began filming and will air on
8:30pm.

The internationally acclaimed telenovela “Avenida Brasil” comes to Telemundo beginning January 6
12:54 PMUnknown
Telemundo kicks off 2014 with the premiere of “Avenida
Brasil,” a worldwide hit coming to U.S. screens for the first time on Monday,
January 6 at 12pm/11am Central. A story
that has moved millions of viewers in more than 120 countries and 17 languages,
“Avenida Brasil” follows the fate of a little girl orphaned by her stepmother’s
greed. Abandoned in a garbage dump, she
meets the boy who will grow to be the love of her life, but the two are
separated when they are adopted by different families and given new names. They never imagine that destiny will bring
them back together as adults when she takes a job as a cook in the home of the
archenemy who gave her up for adoption, only to reencounter her childhood
love. Viewers can follow "Avenida
Brasil" on Facebook/AvenidaBrasilUS and follow @AvenidaBrasilUS on

Starring the internationally renowned Murilo Benício (El
Clon), “Avenida Brasil” is the dramatic story of Rita (Débora Falabella), who
struggles to recover the birthright stolen from her by her stepmother, Carminha
(Adriana Esteves). After Rita’s father
dies under suspicious circumstances, Carminha and her lover, Max (Marcello
Novaes), send the girl to live at the garbage dump so she won’t interfere with
their get-rich schemes. There, Rita is
forced to work under a cruel man named Nilo (José de Abreu), but she has the
fortune to meet Batata (Eduardo Simões), a young boy who becomes her best
friend and true love. He takes her to
live with the other children at the dump until they are adopted, each by a
different family: she by a loving couple that takes her to live abroad,
renaming her Nina; and he by Carminha and Tifón (Murilo Benício), who call him
Jorgito (Cauã Reymond). Years later,
Nina tracks down Carminha and talks her way into a job as the family’s cook to
pursue her plans for revenge. Once inside
the household, she is stunned to discover that she and Carminha have something
very important in common: Their love for Jorgito, Nina’s childhood friend and
soul mate and Carminha’s adopted son.

Carla Estrada
Fernando Colunga
Carla Estrada to produce the remake of "Avenida Brasil"?
5:25 AMUnknown
Mexican producer Carla Estrada, who achieved
great success with past productions such as “Sortilegio” and “Amor Real”, is
reportedly in talks for producing a new telenovela for Televisa.
Although there
aren’t many details about it yet, she reportedly met the screenwriters who will
be writing for the novela. In the past couple of years it was reported that
she’ll be producing the original telenovela "A la luz del ángel", but
now it is said that she left that idea behind, and that she now plans to make a
remake of last year’s Brazilian hit telenovela "Avenida Brasil".
Silvia Navarro and Fernando Colunga are
reportedly considered for the main roles, although nothing is confirmed yet. If
they do get cast in the series, it seems unlikely that they will portray Nina
and Jorginho, but can you imagine them as the Mexican Carminha and Tufão?
The telenovela might start its production in
2014.

I want to thank all the unforgettable team of the telenovela, my son Cauã (Reymond), the amazing cast… those who are and who aren’t here. What we went through this year was emotional. I also want to thank those who personally worked with me.”
She dedicated her award to her good friend and main “enemy”
in “Avenida Brasil”, Débora Falabella: “I want to share this award with a great
