José Ron confirms the cancellation of 'Madre sustituta’

Disappointing news for the fans of Mexican actor José Ron: after rumors came out earlier this month, it was confirmed that the telenovela 'Madre sustituta' will eventually be cancelled. The production was supposed to premiere in 2013, starring Ron and Esmeralda Pimentel and produced by Giselle González.

Supposedly, it was decided by the Televisa executives that the novela is too intense for the hour on which it was supposed to air. The actor said: “it was cancelled. It was because of the storyline of the novela, but I’m relaxed and thankful to Giselle for choosing me. At the moment I’ll be studying. I will wait for the right time to work with her.”

'Madre sustituta' was supposed to tell the story of a woman who faces economic problems and who takes care of her ill father. To earn money, she becomes a surrogate mother, but later she regrets the decision, not wanting to give away her baby.

Meanwhile, Ron also confirmed that he’ll be leaving 'Perfume de Gardenia'. He recently announced that he’ll be moving in together with girlfriend Ariadne Díaz.

Maite Perroni confirms her return to the small screen next year in "La Gata"

After dedicating 2013 to making music and releasing her first solo cd “Eclipse de Luna”, Mexican actress Maite Perroni is ready to return to telenovela-land next year. She recently confirmed that next year she will be starring the new novela “La Gata”, alongside Daniel Arenas.

Maite will also continue to promote her music next year, and will probably be singing the musical theme of the show: “I will have the opportunity of singing the musical theme, and also to sing the song of the couple, so it’s ideal because I’ll be able to combine music with acting. Hopefully I’ll be able to perform in concerts during the weekends, because I’ll be filming from Monday to Friday in the set,” said Maite.

Referring to the upcoming production, she said enthusiastically: “I’ll be working again with producer Nathalie Latrilleux and I’ll be able to act with Daniel Arenas, interpreting this story. Next year I’ll be making a television comeback with this project that I’m excited about”.

Natalia Oreiro ‘collaborates’ with son Merlín Atahualpa at her Russian concert

After finishing filming her successful novela ‘Solamente Vos’, Uruguayan star Natalia Oreiro made a surprising musical comeback and opened her east European tour, where she performed some of biggest hits in various cities in Poland and Russia.

The actress and singer surprised the audience during her Moscow concert, when her cute little son Merlín Atahualpa went up on stage with his famous mom, carrying a little toy guitar and wearing a cute Russia-style hat. The thrilled Oreiro played with adorable her son, who walked shyly on the stage, and presented him to the thousands of fans that came to watch her concert and shouted his name. Oreiro rose to international fame thanks to the huge success of her 1999 novela 'Muñeca Brava'.
